Ballon d'Or 2025: The date for the announcement of the nominees officially revealed!

The French magazine France Football has announced via its official account on the platform (X) that the list of players nominated for the 2025 Ballon d'Or will be unveiled on August 7.

The prestigious awards ceremony will take place on September 22, 2025, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. This accolade is awarded every year to the best player in the world, based on their performances throughout the previous season.

France Football relies on three main criteria to select the winner:

• individual performances and collective achievements;
  
• technical class and fair play spirit;
  
• overall career, considered as a supporting factor in the evaluation.

Who are the favorites to succeed Rodri?

Among the leading contenders for this 2025 edition are global football stars such as Ousmane Dembélé, crowned European champion with Paris Saint-Germain, Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Raphinha, Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappé, and, of course, the iconic Mohamed Salah, a legendary figure in Egyptian football.

As a reminder, Manchester City's Spanish midfielder Rodri won the Ballon d'Or in 2024.
