Barcelona's secured crucial financial boost after advancing to the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals with convincing win over Benfica on Tuesday.

Financial Windfall for Barça

According to Marca, the Catalan giants will receive 12.5 million euro as reward for reaching the last 8, following their 1 - 0 & 3 - 1 victories over the Portuguese side with Raphinha and Lamine Yamal playing starring roles.

This payout comes as much needed relief for Barcelona which has been grappling with reduced revenue due to delays in reopening Camp Nou amid redevelopment efforts.

UCL Earnings Breakdown

Barcelona's already accumulated 67 million euro in this season’s revamped Champions League format:

  • 18.6 million euro for participating in the tournament.
  • 13.3 million euro from wins & draws in the league stage.
  • 13 million euro for finishing 2nd in the group phase.
  • 9.6 million euro for reaching the round of 16.
  • 12.5 million euro for advancing to the quarterfinals.

Following Liverpool’s elimination by Paris Saint Germain in the round of 16, Barcelona's become the biggest financial beneficiary of this season’s competition.

Potential Earnings Ahead

Barcelona stands to earn even more as they progress further:

  • 15 million euro for reaching the semifinals.
  • 18.5 million euro for making the final.
  • 6.5 million euro for winning the title.
  • A potential 40 million euro payday if they go all the way.
