Barcelona will be without Kounde for their next La Liga match against Osasuna after the French defender picked up his fifth yellow card of the season during the game against Getafe on Saturday 25 April.

The suspension comes automatically under league rules dealing a setback to Hansi Flick’s defensive plans.

Costly booking against Getafe

Kounde was cautioned during Barcelona’s league fixture against Getafe, a match played as part of Round 32 of the La Liga season.

The booking proved significant, as it was his fifth in the competition triggering a one match suspension.

Under La Liga regulations, players are suspended for one game after accumulating five yellow card meaning Kounde is now ruled out of the upcoming trip to face Osasuna.
