Ben Younes set to join the Carthage Eagles' coaching staff soon!
According to several Tunisian sources, Étoile Sportive de Métlaoui head coach Imed Ben Younes is on the verge of joining the national team's technical staff. This move is part of the Tunisian Football Federation's (FTF) ongoing efforts to strengthen the coaching setup under manager Sami Trabelsi.
As reported by Mosaïque FM radio, Ben Younes is expected to take up the role of second assistant coach within the newly structured staff.
The same source reveals that a preliminary agreement has already been reached between both parties, with an official announcement anticipated in the coming days. It’s worth noting that Ben Younes previously managed Étoile du Sahel.
Sami Trabelsi counting on Youssef Msakni
Meanwhile, the next Tunisian national team camp, scheduled for June, could see the return of captain Youssef Msakni, who missed the qualifiers against Liberia and Malawi due to injury.
A source close to the technical staff confirmed that Sami Trabelsi intends to call up Msakni for the friendlies against Burkina Faso (June 2), Morocco (June 7), and Guinea (June 10).
Despite ongoing calls to inject fresh blood into the squad, Trabelsi still regards Msakni as a central figure in his sporting project. However, one factor could jeopardize his participation: a potential signing with ES Tunis, which could see him involved in the FIFA Club World Cup.
