Bissouma, Onana, Mazraoui and the Africans in the Europa League final


On May 21, 2025 in Dublin, Tottenham and Manchester United will battle it out in the Europa League final, with several African stars determined to make history.
African talent will be front and center at the 2024-2025 Europa League final. This season, ten African players have reached the finals of UEFA competitions, with several set to take the stage in the showdown between Tottenham and Manchester United.
For Spurs, Mali and Senegal will be proudly represented by midfielders Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr. On the Red Devils' side, the defense and midfield are anchored by Cameroonian goalkeeper André Onana, Moroccan full-back Noussair Mazraoui, and Ivorian winger Amad Diallo—all eager to clinch their first major European title.
Tottenham booked their place in the final after knocking out Bodo/Glimt in the semi-finals, sealing a 2-0 win in the second leg and a commanding 5-1 aggregate score. Manchester United, meanwhile, overcame Athletic Bilbao in the semi-finals, cruising to victory in the return leg and wrapping up a dominant 7-1 aggregate triumph.
