Breaking: Real Madrid's wage bill has risen to €832 million!

La Liga has announced the official salary scales for both First and Second Division teams, effective from the start of the 2026–2027 season.

With the start of the new season, significant changes in salary structures are evident; some clubs have seen substantial growth in their wage bills, while others have experienced a marked decrease compared to the previous season.

Real Madrid has the highest salary bill this season

Yet again, it is Real Madrid who sit at the summit when it comes to the salary cap, with the figure now standing at €832 million — a new all-time high, up from the €761 million mark set in the summer of last year. This salary limit represents the ceiling on what a club is permitted to spend across the season, calculated after taking into account the business conducted during the summer.

That figure takes into account what is spent on players, the manager and the coaching staff, as well as outlays on the reserve team, the youth academy and other sporting departments.

Real Madrid were busy in the summer market, forking out on six new arrivals: Yan Diomande, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, Carlos Espi and Marc Cucurella.

On the other side of the ledger, Los Blancos parted ways with the likes of Dani Carvajal and Dani Ceballos, while several promising youngsters — Jacobo Ortega, Cesar Palacios and Gonzalo Garcia among them — also departed.

Trailing Real Madrid on the list come Barcelona (€582.769 million), Atletico Madrid (€361.287 million), Villarreal (€170.564 million) and Athletic Club (€139.203 million).
