The eyes of African and Arab football fans will be on the Municipal Stadium of Berkane tonight, where the Renaissance of Berkane, crowned champions of Morocco, will face CS Constantine in the first leg of the Confederation Cup semi-final (2024/2025 edition).

The team led by Tunisian coach Moïn Chaabani secured their qualification after defeating ASEC Mimosas, both home and away, with an identical score of one goal to nil.

CS Constantine, on the other hand, booked their spot in the last four after a fierce battle against USM Alger. Following a 1-1 draw over the two legs, the Constantinians triumphed in the penalty shootout (4-3).

In this context, CS Constantine's coach, Kheireddine Madoui, described this match as a "Maghreb derby" during the pre-match press conference.

He stated: "We are fully aware of Berkane's strength. They are an experienced team, led by a coach accustomed to African competitions. It will be a true Maghreb derby, decided by details. Victory will go to the team that is most focused and makes the fewest mistakes."
