CAN 2025: All round of 16 matchups revealed

The group stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations wrapped up this Tuesday, December 31, with the final sixteen teams clinching their spots in the round of 16. The second round bracket is now set, featuring a host of tantalizing duels to be played from January 3 to 6 in Morocco.

The sixteen teams advancing to this knockout stage are now confirmed. Host nation Morocco finished top of Group A and will face Tanzania in their round of 16 clash. The Atlas Lions have secured qualification despite some underwhelming performances, drawing whistles from their own supporters after a stalemate with Mali.

Algeria, who impressed in their final game against Equatorial Guinea, have been handed a tough opponent in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Fennecs, having dominated Group E, will take on the Leopards in what promises to be one of the standout ties of the second round. This showdown between two title contenders is scheduled for Tuesday, January 6.

Defending champions Ivory Coast will go head-to-head with Burkina Faso in a West African derby on Tuesday, January 6. Senegal, leaders of Group B, are set to meet Sudan at the Grand Stade de Tanger.
