Without being overly convincing, Morocco edged past Tanzania in the Round of 16 at CAN 2025 thanks to a goal from Brahim Diaz.

On Sunday evening, Morocco managed to break down Tanzania (1-0) in the Round of 16 of CAN 2025. The Tanzanians held firm for over an hour against the Moroccans, but the Atlas Lions finally found the breakthrough through Diaz in the 64th minute, who capitalized on a goalkeeping error by Masalanga after a clever pass from Hakimi.

The Real Madrid midfielder now has 4 goals in the tournament, making him his country's all-time top scorer in a single CAN edition.

In the next round, Morocco will face the winner of the match between South Africa and Cameroon.
