Moroccan international Brahim Díaz, Real Madrid midfielder, etched his name in gold in the annals of Moroccan football history by leading the Atlas Lions to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Atlas Lions: Brahim Díaz enters legend

The attacking midfielder has become the first Moroccan player ever to score in four consecutive AFCON knockout matches, finding the net against Comoros, Mali, Zambia, and then Tanzania.

In the round of 16 clash played on Sunday night, Brahim Diaz struck the crucial qualifying goal against Tanzania in the 64th minute at Prince Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

The match-winning goal came after a pinpoint assist from captain Achraf Hakimi—a performance that rightfully earned Brahim Díaz the Man of the Match award.

Walid Regragui's men now have a date with the AFCON 2025 quarterfinals next Sunday, where they will face the winner of the South Africa vs Cameroon tie.

What did Brahim Diaz say after knocking Tanzania out of AFCON 2025?
