What did Brahim Diaz say after knocking Tanzania out of AFCON 2025?
Brahim Diaz once again proved decisive as Morocco booked their place in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations edging past Tanzania with narrow 1 - 0 victory in the Round of 16.
The Real Madrid striker scored the winning goal and leading the Atlas Lions to qualify for the quarter finals.
With that strike,, Diaz reached four goal at AFCON 2025 becoming first Moroccan player in history to score in four different AFCON matches.
Speaking to beIN Sports after the final whistle Diaz expressed his pride in both his personal contribution and the collective effort of the team.
“I’m happy to score goals with the Moroccan national team and I want to thank my family who have always supported me,” Diaz said.
The forward also praised Morocco’s overall performance stressing the importance of consistency as the tournament progresses.
“I’m very proud of what the team showed today. I’m happy with the performance and the work we put in during the match. I can’t choose our next opponent but what matters most is that we keep improving and focus on ourselves.”
He added:
“We have to keep moving forward with the same spirit and continue working hard to achieve victories.”
