CAN U20: Morocco soar into the quarter-finals!

After an intense battle at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt, Morocco clinched a brilliant 3-1 victory over Tunisia on the final day of the 2025 U20 AFCON group stage.

This triumph propels the Atlas Cubs into the quarter-finals, while the Eagles are left hoping for a spot among the best third-placed teams.

Tunisia started brightly, pressing high and dominating possession. However, despite several early attempts—including two crucial saves from Benchaouch—they couldn’t break the deadlock.

Gradually, Morocco regained control. In the 44th minute, Ayman Arguigue opened the scoring with a header from a Zahouani cross.

Morocco strike late to seal the deal!

In the second half, Adam Boayar won a controversial penalty, which was eventually overturned by VAR. The Tunisians drew level in the 53rd minute through Doubal, but their pressure failed to yield further results.

Late in the match, Morocco hit hard: Bakhti netted the second goal (86’), followed by a third from El-Abdellaoui (90+2’).

Final score: 3-1. Tunisia are eliminated, while Morocco’s young and talented squad continue their adventure.
