CAN U20: Nigeria aims for the "final"

Nigeria U20 head coach Aliyu Zubairu exudes absolute confidence ahead of Thursday’s crucial May 15 clash against South Africa in the semi-finals of the Egypt 2025 U20 AFCON.

After a convincing victory over Senegal in the quarter-finals, the Flying Eagles are gearing up to lock horns with the Amajita, who also advanced after defeating DR Congo. This showdown between two nations with rich footballing traditions promises to be electrifying. But the Nigerian coach remains optimistic:

I believe we’re going to deliver a great semi-final against the South Africans. I can guarantee that our approach will be much better. Our team improves with every match. Against South Africa, we’ll go into battle with determination and composure.

Both teams have already secured their tickets to the U20 World Cup. It’s a relief, but also an extra source of motivation to chase the continental title, according to Aliyu Zubairu:
