Captain on a Quiet Night: Salah Misses Golden Chance as Liverpool Fall to Brighton

Mohamed Salah failed to deliver as Liverpool suffered 3 - 2 defeat against Brighton on Monday, in matchday 37 of the Premier League.

Salah Chases Golden Boot, But Fails to Score

Despite starting the game in hopes of boosting his European Golden Shoe chances, Salah couldn't find the net or provide an assist.

Manager Arne Slot'd given him the nod to start, even though the reds'd already clinched the league title weeks ago.

Missed Record Breaking Moment

According to Squawka, Salah missed out on historic opportunity. He remains tied with Cesc Fabregas for the most assists away from home in single PL season (11) failing to surpass the record set in 2014 - 15.

A Milestone Night , but No Impact

It was landmark night for the egyptian who captained Liverpool for the 1st time in the Premier League. The match also marked his 300th league appearance , 13 with Chelsea & 287 with Liverpool.

Golden Boot Race Still Alive

The 32 year old has 28 goals, just one behind Kylian Mbappe (29), while Viktor Gyokeres leads the european scoring race with 39 goal for Sporting Lisbon.

Due to the different scoring coefficients, Salah currently has 56 point trailing Gyokeres (58.5) & Mbappe (58).

Liverpool’s loss to Brighton is their 2nd defeat since sealing the title raising questions about their focus heading into the final game of the season.
