Chuba Akpom officially leaves LOSC

It's now official. LOSC announced on Tuesday the departure of Chuba Akpom, who had been on loan from Ajax Amsterdam since last February. The 29-year-old striker will not be continuing his journey in northern France.

Brought in to bolster Lille's attacking options during the second half of the season, the Nigerian-born player didn't fully convince. In 16 appearances across all competitions, he netted 3 goals and provided one assist. Decent numbers, but not enough to persuade the club to trigger the purchase option included in his loan deal.

Under contract with Ajax until June 2028, Chuba Akpom will now return to the Netherlands, where his future remains uncertain. For Lille, this is a strategic decision aimed at reshaping their attack for the upcoming season.
