Claudy M’Buyi Kabamba, the striker who took his destiny into his own hands

Just a year ago, hardly anyone knew his name. Today, Claudy M’Buyi Kabamba has signed with SK Rapid Vienna, following a sensational season at SKN St. Pölten. Twenty-three goals—an explosive but spectacular late bloom.

At 26 years old, the Congolese forward is finally making the big leap. Trained in France at Laval, he never really found his place there. It was in Austria, away from the spotlight, that he found his balance—and truly unlocked his potential. Rapid didn’t hesitate. Impressed by his striker’s instinct and relentless work ethic, the Vienna club offered him a contract through 2028.

A new challenge awaits, in a bigger stadium and with greater expectations. Claudy, however, is ready:
“I can’t wait to score here,” he said simply, eyes already set on the future. He arrives with the reputation of a hungry player, someone who never took shortcuts. Everything he’s achieved, he’s earned. His signing with Rapid is a mark of recognition, but above all, it’s a brand new starting point.
