Club World Cup 2025: Micky Jnr confident in Mamelodi Sundowns

African journalist Micky Jnr has expressed optimism about the South African club Mamelodi Sundowns' chances of going far in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

In a statement given to "Foot Africa", he drew a parallel between the journey of the "Brazilians" and that of Morocco's "Atlas Lions" at the 2022 World Cup.

It's not impossible. If Sundowns can remain consistent and another African side finds their rhythm, a Morocco 2022-style run is within reach. But they'll need sharper finishing, true tactical maturity, and unbreakable mental strength. The potential is definitely there.

After their narrow victory over the South Korean club, the CAF Champions League runners-up will next take on Borussia Dortmund (June 21) and Fluminense (June 25).
