African journalist Micky Jnr was full of praise for Ronwen Williams, the goalkeeper of Mamelodi Sundowns.

He named him the best African player following the first matchday of the 2025 Club World Cup in a statement made to “Foot Africa.”

Undoubtedly, Mamelodi Sundowns shot-stopper Ronwen Williams. He managed to keep a clean sheet against Ulsan Hyundai, showcasing composure and excellent distribution under pressure. He reaffirmed his status as one of Africa’s top goalkeepers today.
