Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly needs nothing short of a miracle to reach the round of 16 at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Rooted to the bottom of their group, the African giants have managed just one point from a goalless draw with Inter Miami (0-0), having already fallen 0-2 to Brazilian side Palmeiras.

To progress to the next round, the Cairo club must defeat FC Porto either 2-0, 3-1, or 4-2, and hope Inter Miami loses to Palmeiras by a two-goal margin.

It's a highly unlikely scenario, given the lackluster performances from Africa’s representatives over the first two matchdays of the tournament.

Al Ahly’s unfortunate record

Despite earning four bronze medals at the Club World Cup, Al Ahly holds an unwanted record in the competition: the most defeats suffered by any club in the tournament’s history (15 losses).
