Despite the unrest off the pitch, the match is set to go ahead. International attention now shifts to the field, where two European heavyweights lock horns in a charged atmosphere. The legendary California arena is unlikely to reach its near-90,000 capacity—local passion for soccer remains limited, and the current situation isn’t helping matters.

On the sporting front, PSG arrive with a title to defend: reigning European champions. Luis Enrique and his men, still riding high after their Champions League triumph two weeks ago, may nevertheless lack a bit of freshness.
