“Communication has begun” Victor Osimhen to Chelsea at last!
Chelsea are still very interested in signing Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen, and it seems that Chelsea will have to make some concessions in order to sign the player.
According to the former Nigerian legend, all it takes is one contact with the player's entourage to seal the deal in Chelsea's favor.
Who is the former player who revealed this!
It was John Obi Mikel who revealed that Chelsea needed just one phone call to finalise the signing of Victor Osimhen, and as Mikel is a close friend of the young Nigerian striker, it's safe to say he knows what his special friend wants.
It is worth mentioning that Chelsea were close to signing Victor Osimhen last season, but what happened was that the Nigerian striker demanded a high wage that the Londoners were not willing to pay, which delayed the deal and the Nigerian went to Galatasaray on loan instead of wearing the Blues' shirt.
Hesitation due to the player's salary!
Although the player is still a hot favourite at Stamford Bridge, the club are hesitant due to his and his agent's financial demands. Chelsea have no shortage of names to sign, including Osimhen, but the player's salary is still an issue.
What did John Obi Mikel reveal?
John Obi Mikel has issued an urgent transfer demand to Chelsea's hierarchy, insisting the club cannot afford to miss out on Victor Osimhen this summer. Speaking on his Obi One Podcast, the Blues legend made an emotional case for his former club to secure the Napoli striker's signature.
"The thought of Osimhen wearing another club's shirt would be absolutely devastating," Mikel declared. "After everything we've built - the connection between me, the club, and Victor - it would be a catastrophic mistake to let him slip away."
The Nigerian superstar has long been linked with Chelsea, and Mikel highlighted why his compatriot represents the perfect fit: "Watch him play - that hunger, that fire. He delivers week in, week out with goals and assists. He's exactly what we need right now."
Mikel revealed Osimhen's deep-rooted Chelsea connections: "This isn't just another transfer target. Victor grew up supporting us. Didier Drogba was his idol. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it - this man bleeds blue. His heart is set on Stamford Bridge."
The former midfielder suggested negotiations could be straightforward: “Honestly, this could be wrapped up quickly - just a phone call and a couple of days of paperwork. I've done everything I can from my side. Now it's up to...”
