Dani Carvajal Celebrated in Madrid: Ayuso’s Barcelona Remark Steals Show

Isabel Diaz Ayuso President of the Community of Madrid, caused stir with pointed joke about Barcelona during ceremony honoring Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal.

A Golden Tribute ... with Twist

Speaking at the event where Carvajal received the Community of Madrid’s Gold Medal, Ayuso quipped:

"Keep in mind that Dani has more Champions league titles than Barcelona in their entire history and I’ll stop there"

Her remark drew loud applause and laughter from the crowd.

Honoring a True Madridista

The ceremony celebrated Carvajal’s decorated career with Real Madrid where he’s been key figure over the past decade. The 32 year old full back expressed pride in receiving the medal, saying:

"It’s great honor to wear this medal on my chest. I also dedicate it to my president who played big role in my journey"

He added:

"I’m proud to be from Madrid, especially from Leganes. This's my home"

Comeback Road Ahead

Carvajal suffered triple knee fracture in Oct 2024 that ruled him out for the rest of the season. Now he’s aiming to return in time for the Club World cup in the USA this Jun.

Battle for Right Back Spot

With Xabi Alonso replacing Carlo Ancelotti as head coach and the arrival of Trent Alexander Arnold on free transfer, Carvajal faces tough competition to reclaim his place in the starting XI.
