De Bruyne’s Last Dance: Manchester City Celebrate a Decade of Brilliance
Manchester City will honour the legendary Kevin De Bruyne on Tuesday night as he plays his final home game for the club against Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium.
A Decade of Glory Ends
De Bruyne who joined City in 2015 from Wolfsburg has won every major trophy including 6 Premier League titles, the Champions League and the Club World cup. He became the club’s midfield general, the captain and fan favourite.
Now after 10 unforgettable years, the curtain closes on one of the PL’s greatest ever careers.
Special Ceremony to Honour KDB
City will host emotional farewell ceremony after the match. Fans are invited to stay behind to watch De Bruyne give speech, receive lifetime season ticket and be applauded by guard of honour from staff & players.
A light show will feature his best moments and Pep Guardiola will also address the crowd.
Guardiola: "He’s Unique – Only Messi's Above"
Speaking ahead of the match, Guardiola said:
"He's one of the best three I’ve ever seen. Messi's first. Kevin's second. His vision, his passing it’s unique"
The City boss added:
"Even in the last game, he made passes no one else can. He’s special player. A true legend of this club"
De Bruyne Doubts Club World Cup Role
Despite being under contract for the 2025 Club World cup, De Bruyne hinted he won’t take part:
"If I get injured there, who’s going to take care of me? It’s probably not worth the risk"
