Deco faces big trouble over the player's departure
With the Catalan club struggling with the salary cap issue, everyone is expecting a lot of players to leave this summer to free up the payroll and sign new players as well.
Andreas Christensen is one of the players expected to leave
The player has not featured for the Catalan side since suffering an injury in the second game of the season when he suffered an ankle injury that kept him out of the team for four months and then suffered an injury that kept him out for a month, which has kept him out for the entire season until now.
Prior to his injury, the player was attracting interest from clubs in the English and Spanish leagues. Brentford were one of the clubs that made an offer for the player, as they wanted to capitalise on Brentford's instability, and with no sign of Christensen's contract being renewed, his departure is more likely than his stay.
Indeed, there was a time when the Dane impressed Brentford's English coach, Thomas Frank.
The player's desire to stay has already decided everything!
Sport newspaper reported that Danish defender Andreas Christensen has no intention of leaving Barcelona. He is determined to put this season behind him, fulfill his contract, and prove his worth to Hans Flick. Christensen and his agents will hold talks with Deco at the end of the season to discuss his future.
However, these negotiations could be complicated. Christensen is currently last in the pecking order among Barça’s five defensive options, and the club is also interested in free agent Jonathan Tah. While there are uncertainties surrounding Ronald Araújo’s future, as of now, Christensen does not appear to be part of their plans.
