Longtime rivals of Real Madrid, Atletico couldn't resist taking a public jab at Xabi Alonso's squad after their Champions League loss to Liverpool on Tuesday night (1-0).

Clearly, Atletico Madrid’s social media manager has a mischievous streak. Following the Colchoneros' victory over Union Saint-Gilloise (3-1), the club’s X account posted images of the "goalscorers of the night": Julian Alvarez (39’), Conor Gallagher (72’), and Marcos Llorente (90+6’). There was a cheeky wink aimed at Real Madrid, beaten at Anfield (0-1) on the very same evening.

The club chose an unusual photo for the first goalscorer of the night. In this shot, he’s neither scoring nor celebrating—unlike his two teammates. Standing next to him is opposing center-back Kevin Mac Allister, none other than the brother of Alexis Mac Allister, the man who secured the Reds’ victory over Los Merengues.
