After much news and press reports that Arsenal were interested in signing Atalanta Bergamo's Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman, the deal seems to have fallen apart in the last few days, with another winger replacing the Nigerian, and surprisingly, the winger replacing Ademola in Arsenal's interest is Spanish sensation Nico Willems of Athletic Bilbao.

The Nigerian's stellar season has put him on the radar of the Premier League giants

Since joining Atalanta three seasons ago, Lookman has developed in leaps and bounds, with the Nigerian striker scoring 50 goals and providing 22 assists in just 111 appearances for the Italian side. These stats have made him one of the most important members of La Dea's squad.

With the announcement that the 27-year-old will be leaving Atalanta at the end of the season, speculation about his next stop is mounting. Many top clubs are keeping a close eye on the situation, especially after the player's impressive performances during his time in Serie A.

Lookman's move to Arsenal appears to be off the table for the London club, with GFFN reporting that the Gunners have opened talks with Nico Williams over a summer move. The move follows the appointment of Andrea Berta as the club's new sporting director, who has already begun to strengthen the squad ahead of next season.

In related news, Arsenal have moved to sign Viktor Gyokeres instead of Victor Osimhen. Should the Williams deal go through, it would reduce Lookman's chances of moving to the Emirates, especially with strong options such as Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Troussard in the left-wing position.

The player will still receive big offers in the summer!

Although Ademola Lookman's prospects of moving to Arsenal have diminished, the Nigerian star is still being eyed by a number of top clubs. With reports suggesting interest from the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Nottingham Forest, Juventus and Liverpool.

according to Transfermarkt, Liverpool look the closest to signing Lookman, especially with the Reds' urgent need to bolster their forward line. The player's market value is estimated to be around €60 million, which is a reasonable amount for the top clubs. For now, Lookman is focused on finishing the season strongly with Atalanta before making any decision on his future.
