Divock Origi announced this Monday that he is retiring from professional football at the age of 31. The former Belgian striker thus brings to an end a career marked by several historic moments in the colours of Liverpool.

Emerging at the highest level with LOSC Lille after coming through the youth ranks at KRC Genk, Origi joined in 2014. After an additional season on loan in northern France, the Belgian international gradually established himself at Anfield under Brendan Rodgers and then .

Origi will be best remembered for his exploits during the 2018-2019 season. His last-gasp goal in the Merseyside derby against Everton reignited his career with the Reds, before he became one of the heroes of the incredible comeback against in the Champions League semi-finals.
