British police have formally charged man after car plowed into crowd of Liverpool supporters during the club’s Premier League title celebrations on Monday.

Dozens Injured in Shock Incident

The suspect identified as British national Paul Doyle, was arrested on the same day of the incident. Authorities confirmed the act wasn't terror related but described it as extremely dangerous with nearly 80 people injured at least 50 of whom required hospital treatment.

Charges Filed Against the Driver

Crown Prosecutor Sarah Hammond stated on Thursday:

"Paul Doyle's been charged with intentional grievous bodily harm after driving his car into large group of fans during public celebration"

Doyle also faces charges of dangerous driving, among others.

Celebration Turns to Chaos

Liverpool'd just clinched their 20th league title matching rivals Man United, prompting mass celebrations across the city.

The joyous scenes turned tragic when the accused reportedly bypassed police barrier using ambulance as cover to access the crowded street.

Video Footage Sparks Outrage

A widely circulated video captured the moment Doyle’s vehicle struck fan draped in Liverpool flag before veering toward more supporters gathered on the roadside.

The police confirmed that Doyle acted alone and reiterated that the investigation's ongoing.
