Eddie Nketiah receives high praise from his coach
After an unconvincing season at Selhurst Park, the former Arsenal striker is receiving praise and sympathy from his Austrian coach Oliver Glasner, and hopes that next season will be better for the player and the team.
What happened to Eddie Nketiah at Crystal Palace!
The player's performances have not been convincing since arriving in the second tier of London and has forgotten his good performances with Arsenal as well, and since the start of the current season, the 2024-2025 season, the player has only started seven games and scored just one goal. This has prompted manager Oliver Glasner to sympathise with the player.
High praise from Coach Glasner for the English striker!
The Austrian manager shared his thoughts on the striker’s challenging season, refusing to judge his campaign just yet. "Eddie is one of the hardest workers I’ve seen," he told reporters. "Honestly, it’s tough watching him give everything and not always get the breaks he deserves."
He pointed to the Newcastle match as an example: “Coming on at 5-0 down is one of the hardest situations for any player—I’ve been there myself, and it’s not easy. He still fought for chances, even slipping at a crucial moment. Sometimes, it just feels like luck isn’t on his side.”
But the manager remains optimistic. "I’ve told him this: if he keeps working like he does every day in training, his moment will come. Maybe it hasn’t happened yet, but football has a way of repaying that kind of dedication."
Looking ahead, he emphasized the importance of the remaining fixtures: “We still have big games left, and his breakthrough could be just around the corner. Tomorrow, we’re going all out with our strongest side—we expect the same from our opponents, regardless of their Champions League commitments next week.”
