Egypt Coach Hossam Hassan Responds to Controversy After TV Prank Show

Egypt national team coach Hossam Hassan has clarified his statements following his appearance on the Ramadan prank show "Ramez Elon Masr" on MBC Masr channel.

During the show Hassan made comments about several players, notably suggesting that Ahmed Hegazy's only 1% chance of joining the national team while Emam Ashour's 90% chance, depending on fan approval of his performances & behavior.

Did Hossam Hassan Say Zizo Should Join Al Ahly?

One of the most debated remarks was regarding Ahmed Sayed Zizo. with reports suggesting that Hassan endorsed move from Zamalek to Al Ahly. the coach later issued statement on his official X account explaining that his words were taken out of context due to editing.

"I actually said that Zizo's best option's to stay at Zamalek but my response about Al Ahly was only in the hypothetical case that he moved" Hassan clarified.

Hassan Apologizes to Zamalek Fans

Following the uproar Hassan publicly apologized to Zamalek and its supporters reaffirming his deep respect for the club and all egyptian teams.

"I hold great respect for Zamalek and its fans. There was no intention to cause misunderstanding". he said.

Also he confirmed that Mohamed Salah takes instructions from him and follows them, he dismissed claims that Salah requested Omar Gaber’s inclusion in the national team and he stated that Trezeguet’s return to Al Ahly would be huge gain for both the club and the player.

He revealed that his dream's to coach Al Ahly someday acknowledging his lifelong support for the red devils.

The controversy's sparked debates among Zamalek & Al Ahly fans but Hassan insists that his words were misrepresented.
