Ehije Ukaki explains his signing with Sheffield United
Ehije Ukaki will now be wearing the colors of Sheffield United. After an impressive season at Botev Plovdiv in Bulgaria, the Nigerian right winger has signed with the English club until June 2027, with an option for two additional years.
In an interview with Footy-Africa, Ehije Ukaki revealed the behind-the-scenes details of a move sealed in the final hours of the transfer window:
Joining Sheffield United was a last-minute decision. I had offers from a Spanish club and other teams interested since January. But the deal came through last night. My agent and I decided to go for it because the transfer window was closing, especially with the Club World Cup coming up.
He chose the Blades, who were impressed by his explosive profile and ability to make a difference out wide. Sheffield United is counting on the 20-year-old, who scored 7 goals and provided 3 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions this season, to bring pace and creativity down the right flank.
