Espérance de Tunis extends Onuche Ogbelu's contract until 2028!
Radio Mosaique FM announced this Tuesday, June 3, that Espérance Sportive de Tunis has officially extended the contract of its Nigerian midfielder, Onuche Ogbelu, for two more seasons.
At just 22 years old, Ogbelu has established himself as one of Espérance’s key midfielders thanks to his outstanding performances all season long. Notably, he scored the decisive goal in the Tunisian Cup final, with a powerful strike from outside the box, beating Club Sportif de la Médina de Tunis goalkeeper Sami Hilal.
Ogbelu extends with Espérance until June 30, 2028
Onuche Ogbelu’s new contract with the "Blood and Gold" now runs until June 30, 2028, whereas his initial deal was set to expire in summer 2026.
Ogbelu joined Espérance in September 2023 from Nigerian side Fosla Academy. Since his arrival, he has played 53 matches for the club, winning the Tunisian league title twice, as well as the Tunisian Cup and the Super Cup, each on one occasion.
Espérance is currently preparing to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup, which will take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13, 2025.
In the group stage draw, the Bab Souika club was placed in Group D alongside Chelsea (England), Flamengo (Brazil), and Los Angeles FC (United States).
