Farid El Mellali to Zamalek? The truth about the transfer rumors
A source close to Zamalek, currently sitting third in the Egyptian Premier League, has categorically denied reports suggesting that a deal has been reached with Algerian winger Farid El Mellali, who currently plays for Angers, ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Some media outlets had claimed that the Egyptian club had secured a preliminary agreement with the player for a one-year contract, including an annual salary of $900,000. However, a source close to the "White Knights" told Kooora this Sunday that "numerous negotiations are ongoing," while clarifying that "no agreement has been finalized yet."
No agreement between El Mellali and Zamalek, according to a close source!
The same source stated: "Farid El Mellali is indeed one of the profiles being monitored, but he is neither the top priority nor the second option on the list."
They added: "The board of directors is not involved in player selection, as this matter falls exclusively under the planning committee chaired by Hussein Labib. The information suggesting an agreement with El Mellali is therefore unfounded."
And to conclude: "Seven players are currently being considered to strengthen the left winger position. The final choice will be made before the start of the new season."
Itβs worth noting that, according to the specialized website Transfermarkt, Farid El Mellali played 34 matches this season for Angers in Franceβs Ligue 2 and the Coupe de France, totaling 1,990 minutes on the pitch. He scored 3 goals and provided 7 assists.
