FC Barcelona: Hansi Flick extends contract until 2027 (official)

Arriving in the summer of 2024 to succeed Xavi Hernandez, Hansi Flick wasted no time in convincing FC Barcelona. Crowned Spanish champions in his very first season at the helm, the German tactician has officially extended his contract until June 2027, as announced by the Catalan club this Wednesday.

"FC Barcelona and Hansi Flick have reached an agreement to extend their partnership until June 30, 2027," read the statement released by Barça.

The former Germany national team manager quickly made his mark in Catalonia. Under his guidance, the Blaugrana pulled off an impressive domestic treble (LaLiga, Copa del Rey, Spanish Super Cup) while showcasing an attractive attacking style.

In the Champions League, Barça also returned to form, reaching the semi-finals for the first time since 2019.

However, despite a thrilling two-legged tie against Inter Milan (losing 7-6 after extra time), the Catalan club saw their European campaign end just short of the final.

"Hansi Flick has restored Barcelona's status as a European powerhouse," concluded the club, expressing confidence in the German's ability to continue writing Barça's history.
