On Wednesday night, Fermin Lopez netted a brace against Slavia Prague in the Champions League. Facing the media, Hansi Flick was effusive in his praise for the young Spanish talent.

For several months, Chelsea have been making persistent efforts to sign Fermin Lopez. However, the young Spaniard opted to stay at FC Barcelona. After Lopez’s double against Slavia Prague (2-4) this Wednesday in the Champions League, Hans-Dieter Flick heaped praise on the emerging star.

"He’s a fantastic player. The decision was his and I’m glad he stayed. He’s a player who embodies the FC Barcelona DNA. I really enjoyed his performance," the German coach revealed at the press conference.

In 24 matches across all competitions this season for Barça, Lopez has tallied 10 goals and 10 assists.
