FC Metz: Venezia activates purchase option and signs Fali Candé
Fali Candé has moved from a loan deal to a permanent transfer at Venezia FC as of June 12, 2025. The Italian club triggered the purchase option for the Bissau-Guinean international, who was previously owned by FC Metz, following six months of fruitful collaboration in Serie A.
The 27-year-old's permanent transfer was announced today by FC Metz in a public statement, following the official confirmation of his signing with Venezia FC. "Arriving in Moselle during the winter of 2022, Fali Candé will no longer wear the garnet jersey. The Bissau-Guinean international had been on loan at Venezia for six months, and the Italian side has decided to exercise the purchase option they held for the defender," the Metz club announced.
A successful and well-deserved loan
Arriving on loan at the end of January, Candé quickly impressed with his versatility as both a center-back and left-back. A regular starter, he made 17 Serie A appearances, scoring once and providing an assist. Despite the club's relegation to Serie B, the Italian side secured his transfer for an estimated fee of around 2 million euros. Fali Candé has signed a contract keeping him at the club until June 30, 2028, Venezia FC confirmed.
