FIFA matchdays: Niger to take on Guinea and Zimbabwe in friendlies
The Nigerien Football Federation has officially announced two friendly matches for the Mena, against Guinea and Zimbabwe, scheduled for June 6 and 10. These games will be played on neutral ground in Morocco, the usual base for the Niger national team’s training camps. The host stadiums will be revealed at a later date.
In preparation for the upcoming rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Niger’s Mena has opted to challenge two formidable opponents during the June 2025 FIFA matchdays. Currently sitting fourth in Group E of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with six points from four matches, the Niger side is looking to fine-tune its tactics and integrate new dynamics ahead of the crucial autumn fixtures.
Head coach Harouna Doula will use these games to assess his key players while giving valuable playing time to promising young talents. This double-header is clearly designed to best prepare the squad for decisive challenges ahead, with the ambition of leading Niger to a historic first-ever World Cup qualification.
