The FIFA U20 World Cup 2025 in Chile has its official face: meet "Vito" the Fiskash , a native South American rodent known for its fluffy fur and rabbit like features.
Why Vito?
Unveiled at a formal event in Valparaiso, the cheerful character was chosen for his social nature, boundless energy and appealing look. The name "Vito" derives from the Latin word vita (life) symbolizing vitality and excitement key traits of youth football.
A Symbol of Chilean Identity
The launch ceremony featured Chile’s Sports Minister Jaime Pizarro, Valparaiso’s mayor and Football Federation President Pablo Milad.
This marks Chile’s 2nd time hosting the U 20 tournament, the first being in 1987.
Tournament Dates & Venues
The competition runs from 27 Sep to 19 Oct 2025, across Santiago, Valparaiso, Rancagua and Talca.
Arab & Global Participation
Three Arab nations have qualified:
- Morocco & Egypt from Africa
- Saudi Arabia from Asia
Top global teams like Argentina, Brazil, France, Spain, Italy, USA and Japan will also compete in what promises to be spectacular youth football showcase.
