Filozofe Mabete joins Swindon Town

Filozofe Mabete becomes Swindon Town’s fifth summer signing. The 20-year-old Congolese central defender, who came through the ranks at Wolverhampton, has signed a two-year contract with the League Two club.

Captain of both the Wolves’ U18 and U21 sides, Filozofe Mabete hasn’t yet made his Premier League debut, but he has gained valuable experience in Premier League 2 and the Vertu Trophy, facing senior teams. Having featured for both England and DR Congo at youth international level, he is known for his physical presence, positional awareness, and his ability to play in either a back four or a back three.

Filozofe Mabete joins a rejuvenated backline, surrounded by experienced players like Will Wright and Ryan Delaney. And he’s clearly excited about the challenge:
