Friendlies: 13 countries to play in Morocco, an unprecedented event!
Exclusive
No country has ever hosted so many African national teams in such a short span for friendly matches. From June 6 to 10, Morocco will welcome no fewer than 13 national teams during the FIFA international break, cementing its central role in continental football.
In addition to their two scheduled clashes in Fès against Benin (June 6) and then Tunisia (June 9), the Cherifian Kingdom will open its pitches to 11 more fixtures.
The cities of Casablanca, Mohammedia, Berrechid, and Fès will share hosting duties for these encounters, deploying a total of five stadiums—some of which are also set to be used for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in July.
A record-breaking hosting feat in Morocco
This record is driven in part by the fact that several of the invited nations, such as Sudan or Central African Republic, do not have CAF-approved stadiums.
Morocco thus stands out as a safe haven for African football, offering state-of-the-art infrastructure and proven logistics.
The teams taking part are: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, Niger, Sudan, Tunisia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and of course, Morocco.
