Friendlies: Algeria squad list to be unveiled on May 29 (Statement)
The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has announced that Vladimir Petkovic will reveal his squad list this Thursday, May 29 at 11 a.m. (Algerian time), ahead of two upcoming friendly matches. The Fennecs will lock horns with Rwanda on June 5 in Constantine, before taking on Sweden on June 10 in Stockholm.
It’s worth noting that leaks have already emerged in the local press. Farès Chaïbi, who has been in fine form with Eintracht Frankfurt, is expected to make the list, according to a statement from his club.
Goalkeepers Alexis Guendouz and Anthony Mandrea are already at the Sidi Moussa National Technical Center, where they are undergoing specialized training.
The full squad will be assembled by June 2
Other players such as Baghdad Bounedjah and Youcef Atal are also expected to arrive in the coming days. The full group is set to be complete no later than June 2, the official start date of the training camp.
Meanwhile, internationals Ramy Bensebaïni, Youcef Belaïli, and Mohamed Tougaï, who recently competed in the FIFA Club World Cup, are also expected to answer the call.
This training camp will give Petkovic a chance to run a few tests and strengthen team chemistry, as Algeria gears up for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled in Morocco.
