From Icon to Outcast? Zizo’s Future in Doubt After Legal Fallout with Zamalek

The crisis between player Ahmed Sayed Zizo and his club Zamalek continues to escalate, as his lawyer, Ashraf Abdel Aziz, revealed new details about the escalating dispute.

Speaking on DMC TV, Abdel Aziz revealed he'd reached out to Zamalek president Hussein Labib to secure guarantees for Zizo’s safety at the club’s facilities but received shocking response.

"I requested security guarantees for zizo in accordance with FIFA regulations especially given the current tensions. but the president responded bluntly: I’m not the club’s security manager. I’m the president of Zamalek" said the lawyer.

Legal Position: Zizo Still Under Contract

Zizo 29 is still officially under contract with zamalek until the end of the current season despite widespread reports that he's agreed to join rivals Al Ahly on free transfer.

Abdel Aziz stressed that his client:

  • Is ready to return to training
  • Demands only his legal & professional rights
  • Refuses to undergo any measures that violate FIFA regulations or put him at risk

“We’re not asking for anything beyond what’s legally due to Zizo” the lawyer added.

No Renewal - No Resolution

Zamalek have ruled out renewing Zizo’s contract due to breakdown in salary negotiations and the ongoing legal spat has only deepened the divide. The player’s request for a safe environment to fulfill his obligations was intended to facilitate peaceful return but now appears stalled.
