Germany: Stuttgart shatters Arminia's dream and lifts the Cup

The most beautiful fairy tale in German football came to a sudden end at Berlin's Olympiastadion. Facing a valiant Arminia Bielefeld side, it was Stuttgart who held their nerve and claimed victory in the DFB-Pokal final (4-2), securing both the trophy and a spot in the Europa League.

Yet things almost started perfectly for Arminia. In the 12th minute, Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee rattled the crossbar with a sudden strike. But that missed chance was swiftly punished. Just three minutes later, Nick Woltemade opened the scoring for Stuttgart after a superb through ball from Angelo Stiller (1-0, 15'). Then, in the 22nd minute, Deniz Undav doubled the lead with a powerful shot into the top left corner (2-0), and struck again in the 28th after another assist from Stiller (3-0).

Stuttgart in control, Bielefeld salvage pride

In the second half, Stuttgart eased off. The intensity dropped, but the chances kept coming. It was Enzo Millot who ended any doubts in the 66th minute with a well-placed shot low inside the post (4-0). Despite the wide margin, Bielefeld's players never gave up.

Julian Kania pulled one back in the 82nd minute (4-1), well set up by Christopher Lannert, before Stuttgart conceded an unfortunate own goal by Josha Vagnoman (4-2, 85'). But the gap was too wide, and the outcome was sealed.

At the final whistle, Stuttgart lifted the German Cup, the reward for a thoroughly controlled season. For Arminia Bielefeld, this run will go down in history. Their dream ends in the final, but the emotion sparked throughout the competition will keep them forever in the hearts of football fans.
