Ghana and Nigeria invited to London for a tournament
The Unity Cup is making its return. Ghana, Nigeria, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago will face off next May in London for the tournament's second edition.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has made the schedule official: the Caribbean teams will kick off the event on May 27, followed by a showdown between the Black Stars and the Super Eagles on May 28. A final and a bronze medal match will take place on May 31.
With prestigious teams and top-tier players, the competition also aims to highlight the growing impact of African and Caribbean football on the international stage. The first edition in 2004 saw Nigeria crowned champions against Jamaica and Ireland. This year, the trophy could very well change hands. An event not to be missed.
