Gian Piero Gasperini asks Ademola Lookman to agree to renew his contract with Atalanta
With European prostitute Gian Pero Gasperini officially on his way out, the Atalanta Bergamo boss has asked several names to sign a new contract with the Italian club and not leave in the summer, with reports suggesting that Gasperini wants Ademola Lookman, Ederson, or Mateo Retegui to stay.
Atalanta wants to renew Gasperini's contract before it expires
Italian coach Gasperini's contract expires on June 30, ending his nine-year stay with the club, and because of the good results he has achieved in this period, the management wants to reward him by renewing his stay with the prestigious team.
The names that the Italian coach has stipulated to stay are those that have been linked to various clubs as recently reported in the press, with Ademola and his teammate, Retegui, the player of the season, at the forefront of the list.
Back in February, transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano suggested that Ademola is expected to leave next summer with offers coming in from the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Barcelona.
The summer transfer window is buzzing with big-name speculation as several European heavyweights reportedly vie for signature acquisitions. Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson has emerged as a prime target, with Juventus, Newcastle United, and Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester City all said to be monitoring his situation.
Meanwhile, Argentine striker Retegui appears to be at the center of a London tug-of-war, with both Chelsea and Arsenal rumored to be preparing approaches for the highly-rated forward. These potential moves could significantly reshape both clubs' attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
