Golden Boot Update: Mbappe’s Brilliance Keeps the Pressure on Gyokeres & Salah

The battle for the European Golden Boot took another twist this weekend as both Viktor Gyokeres & Mohamed Salah failed to add to their tallies while Kylian Mbappe reignited the chase with decisive brace.

Salah & Gyokeres Miss Out

Sporting CP’s Swedish striker Gyokeres, dubbed “the new Ronaldo”, couldn’t find the net in the 2 - 1 win over Gil Vicente keeping his tally at 38 goal & 57 point , still leading the golden boot standings.

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah also drew blank in the 3 - 1 loss to former club Chelsea.

The egyptian remains top scorer in the PL with 28 goal & 56 point placing him 2nd in the golden boot race.

Mbappe Closes In

Real Madrid’s incoming star Kylian Mbappe struck twice against Celta Vigo, bringing his la liga tally to 24 goal , just one behind Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski.

He now has 48 point, tying for 4th with Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) & Mateo Retegui (Atalanta).
