In its latest update, football statistics powerhouse Transfermarkt has crowned Achraf Hakimi as the most valuable African player on the planet, surpassing Egypt’s Omar Marmoush and Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen.

The Paris Saint-Germain right-back’s market value has soared after a phenomenal season, highlighted by a Champions League triumph and a nod as the best player in France’s top flight for the campaign.

Hakimi’s stock rocketed from €65 million to €80 million, catapulting him to 25th in the world rankings. He now stands as both the most valuable African and Arab player, as well as the highest-valued right-back globally.

Among Moroccan players, Achraf Hakimi reigns supreme. He holds a commanding lead over Real Madrid’s attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz, valued at €45 million, while Bilal El Khannouss rounds out the top three despite a drop to €28 million.
