Wydad Casablanca president Hicham Ait Menna's revealed that the club made bold attempt to sign Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World cup.

In interview with Radio Monte Carlo, Ait Menna confirmed:

"Cristiano wouldn’t have come for the money , he doesn’t need it"

Contact with Ronaldo’s Camp

Amid swirling rumors linking Ronaldo to several clubs participating in the expanded Club World cup, Ait Menna admitted:

"Yes I contacted one of his agent friends around 3 and half to 4 month ago and I asked if Cristiano would be interested in playing the Club World cup"

The response, however wasn't what Wydad hoped for:

"He replied that he didn’t think Cristiano would accept"

Wydad Ready for Massive Test

Wydad arrived in Washington last Wednesday to kick off their preparations for the global tournament. The Moroccan champions face gruelling group stage, starting with Man City on 18 Jun followed by Juventus & Al Ain in their next 2 match.
