Henri Camara's birthday: the legendary 'Lapin Flingueur' turns 48

The third most-capped player in Senegalese football history, the iconic striker of the Lions of Teranga, Henri Camara (99 caps, 31 goals), celebrates his 48th birthday.

A true "TGV", Titi Camara is a legend in Senegal, having scored a historic goal against Sweden in 2002 that secured a quarter-final berth at the Asian World Cup. Watch the video:

With 31 goals to his name for the Lions’ Den, the former West Ham United player still holds the record for most goals scored for the Lions of Teranga, trailing only the unstoppable Sadio Mané (46).

The 'Lapin Flingueur', as he is fondly known in Senegal thanks to his blistering pace, spent most of his career in Greece, finally hanging up his boots in 2017 at the age of... 40!

While we hope to see another Senegalese star join him at the top, we wish a very happy birthday to one of the greatest strikers in African football history!

Henri Camara's honors:

  • 3rd most-capped player in Senegalese history with 99 appearances between 1999 and 2009
  • 2nd all-time top scorer for the national team with 31 goals
  • Runner-up in the 2002 Africa Cup of Nations
  • Swiss champion in 2001 with Grasshopper Zurich
  • World Cup quarter-finalist in 2002
