Ibrahima Soumah

Ibrahima Soumah has closed the chapter with Zimbru Chișinău and signed with FC Sheriff Tiraspol. The 21-time Moldovan champions announced the arrival of the 21-year-old Guinean midfielder on June 11, 2025, just days after finalizing an agreement with Zimbru.

After two standout seasons with Zimbru, Ibrahima Soumah has decided to take the next step in his career by joining Sheriff Tiraspol, the most decorated club in the country. The Guinean has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with an option for a one-year extension, according to the club's management. His transfer, valued at around €350,000, was sealed after several weeks of negotiations between the two clubs and the player's representatives.

A product of the SOAR Academy, Ibrahima Soumah had his first taste of Eastern European football with Zimbru Chișinău, making 18 appearances this season. Despite only recently returning from injury, he impressed with his football intelligence and ball-winning abilities. Ukrainian club Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih also showed interest, but the player and his management team opted for Sheriff’s offer, considering it a more ambitious sporting project.
